Liz Spaulding will be the first to hold the new executive position of New York Directorat the Screen Actors Guild Foundation, the organization announced Monday.

“Since 2010, the SAG Foundation has increased its programming for New York performers by more than 400 percent,” Spaulding said. SAG Foundation offers about 400 free workshops, panels, screenings and Q&As annually. Spaulding will manage all New York operations for the SAG Foundation, including the Actors Center, which opened in May 2014 at 1900 Broadway, expanded programs and staff, industry and corporate relations and development and fundraising.

“I plan on developing strong relationships with New York press outlets as well as use the SAG Foundation’s fantastic programming and Actors Center to increase strategic partnerships within the industry and with corporate sponsors,” she said. “I will know I’ve been successful when I’m walking down the street through midtown and I overhear a New Yorker rave to her friend about a panel she attended at the SAG Foundation with Jessica Chastain, how it opened her eyes to the commitment and training that it takes to become a successful actor and how she can’t wait to see who the foundation has next.”

Spaulding is coming to the SAG Foundation from the New York Mayor’s Office of Media and Entertainment, where she managed the $4 million annual incentive “Made in NY” program along with marketing, promotions and partnerships. Prior to working for the city, Spaulding worked for TribecaFilm and Maybelline.

Spaulding attended the London School of Economics and Political Science and New York University.
