The SAG-AFTRA Foundation Don LaFontaine (DLF) Voiceover Lab in Los Angeles, is a state-of-the-art recording facility that brings together the professionalism and quality of a commercial recording studio and the innovation and educational focus of a classroom environment.
At the DLF Voiceover Lab, SAG-AFTRA and AEA members can record voice tracks for demo reels, learn how to use popular audio recording software, train with top voiceover instructors and network with peers.
The DLF Voiceover Lab is named in memory of legendary voice actor Don LaFontaine and cultivates a thriving community of voice actors who embody his generous spirit of mentorship and giving back.
The DLF Voiceover Lab is a free facility for SAG-AFTRA members and made possible through gifts, grants and sponsorships. The Foundation never draws on SAG-AFTRA dues or initiation fees.

The Don LaFontaine Voiceover Lab is offering Online Booth Sessions (OBS). Members can reserve these remote recording sessions with our audio engineers from anywhere you call home. Record union voiceover auditions, practice reading copy, receive direction and feedback on your reads, and learn about remote recording. All you need is a computer, the Chrome browser and a stable Internet connection. Reserve a session and learn more.
How to Reserve & Cancel Online Booth Sessions – 2020
The Online Booth Sessions calendar is now open. Moving forward, please reserve your own Online Booth Sessions by following the steps below.
How to Reserve an Online Booth Session (OBS)
Sign in to your SAG-AFTRA Foundation user account and you arrive at your My Account – Dashboard on your computer, tablet or smartphone.
Locate the By Appointment Only icon/header.
Click the Select a Calendar.
Click the LA Voiceover Lab – Online Booth Sessions.
THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT – Click the Reserve button for the date and time you want, but you must reserve two (2) back-to-back 30-minute sessions (1-hour total) at the top of each hour between the calendar hours of 9:00 AM and 1:00 PM (for example: 9:00 AM – 9:30 AM + 9:30 AM – 10:00 AM). After 1:00 PM, you must reserve two (2) back-to-back 30-minute sessions (1-hour total) beginning on the half-hour (for example: 1:30 PM – 2:00 PM + 2:00 PM – 2:30 PM; etc.).
Verify the information and click the appropriate button (Yes or No) to confirm.
You will receive a confirmation email with instructions about your upcoming OBS.

How to Cancel an Online Booth Session
Note: Cancellations must be made 24-hours before the start time of the session. If you are outside of that 24-hour window, contact us at ashuford@sagaftra.foundation
Repeat the steps above and click Cancel, which will appear in place of Reserve.

From your My Account – Dashboard click My Upcoming Programs, locate your reserved sessions and click Cancel followed by Yes to confirm the cancellation. You must cancel each of your two (2) back-to-back 30-minute sessions individually.
