Event Takes Place Thursday, November 8, in Beverly Hills
LOS ANGELES (September 4, 2018) – The SAG-AFTRA Foundation announced today it will bestow this year’s Artists Inspiration Awards to legendary actor Harrison Ford and superstar performer and actor Lady Gaga at the Foundation’s 3rd Annual Patron of the Artists Awards to be held on Thursday, November 8, at the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts in Beverly Hills. The SAG-AFTRA Foundation annually honors two artists who have used their platform to advance humanitarian and philanthropic causes with Artists Inspiration Awards. Previous SAG-AFTRA Foundation Artists Inspiration Award honorees include Leonardo DiCaprio, Lionel Ritchie, and Kate Winslet.

Lady Gaga, whose monster career as a performer and actor has won her hundreds of millions of fans around the world, has also worked tirelessly on behalf of young people, focusing on mental wellness and building a kinder, braver world through her Born This Way Foundation. Harrison Ford and Lady Gaga are shining examples of how extraordinary success and true legacy are about creating a better world.”
Academy Award® nominated actor Harrison Ford has portrayed some of cinema’s most memorable roles characters including Indiana Jones in the Indiana Jones franchise and Han Solo in the Star Wars universe. Ford has starred in everything from Hollywood classics such as American Graffiti and Apocalypse Now to Ridley Scott’s critically-acclaimed Blade Runner. He has garnered numerous awards and nominations including an Oscar nomination, a Lifetime Achievement Award from the American Film Institute, the Golden Globes’ prestigious Cecil B. DeMille Award, and was presented a star on the legendary Hollywood Walk of Fame. Ford will next lend his voice to the animated feature Secret Life of Pets 2, the follow-up film to the box office smash, and it has been announced he will reprise his role of Indiana Jones in the franchise’s fifth film with Steven Spielberg directing.
For over 25 years, Ford has championed the environment through his support of Conservation International where he currently serves as Vice-Chairman of the Board of Directors. Conservation International is a nonprofit group that protects biodiversity in trouble spots internationally. In addition, Ford has actively supported charities including Riverkeeper, Young Eagles, EarthShare and Restore Hetch Hetchy.
Lady Gaga is one of Hollywood’s most recognizable performers and has established herself as a respected singer, songwriter, and actor. In 2008, Gaga rose to fame after releasing the chart-topping album “The Fame,” for which she received two Grammy® Awards. Her follow-up EP, “The Fame Monster,” also was nominated and won numerous accolades including a Grammy for Best Pop Vocal Album. Gaga’s first headlining tour, The Monster Ball, earned rave reviews from critics and fans and went on to become one of the highest-grossing concert tours of all time. She went on to release “Born This Way” and “ArtPop,” her third and fourth studio albums, to critical and commercial success. In addition to conquering the music world, Gaga has taken the acting industry by storm and earned a Golden Globe® for her performance in Ryan Murphy’s anthology series “American Horror Story: Hotel.” She can next be seen in Bradley Cooper’s directorial debut A Star Is Born, in which she plays the lead alongside Cooper.
