aloud and character voices are sure to entertain Storyline Online viewers, and
his encouraging words when he closes the book about the power of imagination is
an inspiring message for young readers.”
When a Dragon Moves In is an imaginative tale about a boy’s day at the beach with his real life family and a mythical creature’s visit to his perfect sandcastle. The story unfolds as Mom, Dad and Sis are busy with their own beach activities, while the boy and his pal engage in an afternoon of playful hijinks. His family disregards the boy’s exciting news about his new friend; however when sandwiches go missing, dragon laughter erupts and claw prints cover the brownies, the boy points to his mischievous friend. Reality and fantasy are called into question When a Dragon Moves In to the perfect beach sandcastle.
Following
his captivating 5-minute read aloud, Duplass connects with his young viewers
about the power of imagination, “The important thing here is that no matter
what people say, if you believe it in your mind, if you can see it in your
mind, you’ve got to hang onto it.”
As with all Storyline Online videos, When a Dragon Moves In comes with a
complimentary supplemental activity guide aligned with Common
Core Standards that strengthens verbal, written and comprehension skills. Aimed
