#GivingTuesday

What is #GivingTuesday?

#GivingTuesday is a global day of giving fueled by the power of social media and collaboration. Celebrated on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving (in the U.S.) and the widely recognized shopping events Black Friday and Cyber Monday, #GivingTuesday kicks off the charitable season, when many focus on their holiday and end-of-year giving. One of the best ways to get involved is in your own community.

How can I participate?

Participation is easy and there are two ways to help. The first is to donate to the SAG-AFTRA Foundation on or before Tuesday, November 28, 2017. Any amount helps and know that you are supporting the performing arts community along with expanding literacy opportunities around the world for students Pre-K to grade 5.

The second way to help is to share our #GivingTuesday posts on your social media platform with a personal note on why the SAG-AFTRA Foundation is important to you. It’s that simple.

Example social media post:
For #GivingTuesday, I am giving a gift to one of my favorite nonprofits that supports performing artists and children’s literacy – @SAGAFTRAfound. Please join me: www.sagaftra.foundation/givingtuesday

How does this help?

The SAG-AFTRA Foundation is a nonprofit charity that provides no-cost programming to performing artists as well as free children’s literacy programs worldwide that promote early reading skill for children. These programs are solely supported through donations, grants and gifts. Every donation is important to ensure that these programs remain free.

The SAG-AFTRA Foundation has been recognized among U.S. nonprofits, by both Guidestar and Charity Navigator, for its commitment to accountability and transparency.
