• The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) applications for individual assistance closed on 3/31/2025, but if you missed the deadline due to extenuating circumstances, you may be able to file a late application. For more information, call the FEMA Helpline at 800-621-3362 between 4 AM – 10 PM.

• U.S. Small Business Administration loan applications to rebuild damaged homes have expired. SBA loans for small business owners and nonprofits are still open; see more information in the “Small Business & Nonprofit Organization Support” section below.

• The CA Dept. of Social Services offers grants of up to $10,000 to supplement FEMA awards as well as direct case management to disaster survivors. Learn more

• LA County and FEMA are offering short-term case management for anyone impacted by the wildfires. Learn more here

• The Federal National Mortgage Association, a.k.a. Fannie Mae, assists homeowners, renters, and communities affected by the recent wildfires. If your home or place of employment was impacted, Fannie Mae can help you navigate the challenging recovery process through disaster recovery counseling at 855-437-3243. Learn more

• The deadline to apply for CA Disaster Unemployment Assistance for work lost during the January wildfires passed on June 10th. To contact the Employment Development Department, see information here.

• The deadline to opt into the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers’ free debris removal passed on April 15th. You can learn more and, if you opted in, track the status of your property’s debris removal here.

• One-Stop Rebuilding Centers provide assistance to property owners with rebuilding, permitting, and planning. See locations below:

• The Department of Public Health is launching a new program to provide free soil lead testing for residents living downwind of the Eaton Fire burn area. Learn more and sign up here

• Disaster recovery experts at Loyola Marymount University, UCLA, and Purdue University are offering free air, soil, and pool water testing for property owners near the Palisades and Eaton Fire lines. Learn more and sign up here.

• Professors at USC are also offering free testing, specifically testing lead in the soil. Anyone who is concerned about fire impacts on soil may participate in this program at no cost. Learn more here

• SGV Habitat for Humanity offers Eaton Fire survivors help with home repairs, smoke remediation, and other essential products like mattresses and air purifiers. See their wildfire assistance page for more details.

• My Tribe Rise is helping community members affected by the Eaton Fires with supplies and other assistance. Complete their intake form on their website.

• The Neighbors of Altadena Support Coalition is also helping members with a variety of services from document replacement to rebuild planning. Learn more here

• The Fire Poppy Project connects renters and homeowners whose homes were damaged by the Eaton Fire with the remediation assistance they need. Apply here

• A number of legal aid organizations are offering free assistance to wildfire survivors with FEMA appeals, insurance questions, and landlord-renter disputes. Attend legal clinics listed below under “upcoming events” or refer to the following organizations for help.

• HEART LA specializes in helping renters who care for pets with eviction prevention and other housing legal services. They also have a disaster program that can provide assistance and resources for your pet. Learn more

• Tugboat Claims is offering free personalized claim support for California wildfire survivors. Access the free yearlong membership here.

• Call the CA Insurance Commissioner at 800-927-4357 with questions, or see online resources here

• United Policyholders offers free guidance for wildfire recovery and submitting insurance claims. Learn more at this link, or submit an insurance question for one of their legal experts to answer here.

• The CalAssist Mortgage Fund provides grants to cover wildfire survivors’ mortgage payments. Grants will cover 3 months of mortgage payments, up to a maximum of $20,000, paid directly to your mortgage provider (more are joining the program every day). LA County applicants must be below the household income cap of $211,050. Learn more and apply here

• Request property tax relief from the LA County Assessor by calling (213) 974-8658 or by submitting this online form.

• The State of California now has a new law that requires mortgage servicers offer mortgage forbearance for up to 12 months for any homeowner whose home was destroyed or damaged by the wildfires. Learn more here

• Neighborhood Housing Services of LA County offers free financial counseling, property assessments/inspection, and financial assistance to support wildfire survivors in rebuilding. Learn more here

• GER3 is offering remediation and repairs for Altadena residents who have been impacted by the Eaton Fires. Services are all-encompassing and are designed to serve a homeowner’s full smoke remediation needs. They currently do not offer standalone services. Applicants that do not have the means or ability to remediate themselves are prioritized. Email Wildfire.Recovery@ger3.org to begin the process.

• The Hope Crisis Response Network is rebuilding homes for uninsured or underinsured homeowners, using a mix of volunteer labor and trade subcontractors. Learn more

• The Altadena Community Preservation Fund provides a one-time financial assistance payment of $15,000 to underinsured homeowners over 65 years old, who were displaced by the 2025 Eaton Fire. Apply here

• The Greenline Housing Foundation supports homeowners displaced from the Eaton Fire with housing and additional support. Apply here

• Owners of mobile/manufactured homes can receive assistance from CA Dept. of Housing & Community Development. Learn more

• Applications are open for Los Angeles County’s Emergency Rent Relief Program to protect renters impacted by 2025 Wildfires. Funds will be disbursed directly to building owners (i.e., landlords and homeowners) to prevent eviction and stabilize households, covering up to six months of rent debt per household, up to $15,000. Renters cannot apply directly, but they can refer their landlords to apply. The application deadline will be January 23rd at 5 PM, and early submissions are strongly encouraged. Learn more

• Renters impacted by the fires can learn more about their rights on this resource page maintained by Stay Housed LA. Learn more

• Altadena Renters: Under County law, rental property owners are required to maintain rental housing units in a safe and habitable condition. If your landlord does not evaluate and remediate your rental unit from smoke/ash damage, file a complaint with the LA County Dept. of Public Health. For renters that file a complaint by Dec. 31, 2025, an inspector will be sent to their unit. That inspector also will contact the landlord and order them to pay for professional testing and, if needed, professional cleaning to bring the unit back up to the county’s habitability standards. • Door of Hope offers housing assistance and financial aid to Eaton Fire survivors who experienced a total loss from the fires. Learn more

• The Boys & Girls Club of Malibu has emergency grants and case coordination available to Palisades Fire victims who have been impacted through home loss, displacement, or loss of job. Learn more here

• Jewish Free Loan offers zero-interest, zero-fee loans to individuals impacted by the fires. Learn more

• Members of any union local in LA County can apply for rent, mortgage, utility, and/or food assistance from Labor Community Services LA. Proof of future income required to receive assistance. Intake form here

• The SAG-AFTRA Foundation’s Disaster Relief Fund is available to SAG-AFTRA members whose primary residence was destroyed damaged, or rendered uninhabitable due to the Los Angeles wildfires. Apply here

• Entertainment Industry workers can receive financial assistance from the Entertainment Community Fund and the Motion Picture & Television Fund.

• The National Association of Voice Actors’ California Wildfire Relief Fund supports voice actors affected by the wildfires. VAs can apply for financial relief as well as replacement equipment. Learn more here

• DreamSpring has compiled a list of 45+ grant funds that support artists working across media arts and film, literature, music, performing arts, craft, and visual arts. Learn more 

• The Inevitable Foundation’s Emergency Relief Fund provides cash grants to disabled and neurodivergent writers and filmmakers in crisis. View here

• IATSE members and retirees can apply for up to $3,000 in financial relief, see application and instructions here.

• Music industry professionals can apply for MusiCares Disaster Relief grants by emailing MusiCaresRelief@musicares.org or calling 800-687-4227, and make sure to mention your SAG-AFTRA membership when applying. More information here.

• Musicians can get support from the Sweet Relief Musicians Fund. Learn more

• The Music Health Alliance’s Industry Mental Health Fund supports the outpatient mental health needs of music professionals and their immediate family members who have been personally impacted by the LA Wildfires. Qualified applicants can receive up to $2,000 for mental health needs. Apply here

• A Sense of Home offers “home creation” assistance, where they will provide disaster-impacted people with furniture and home goods to furnish their new, long-term place to live. Apply here

• 24LA operates a “free shopping” warehouse where disaster-impacted families can receive essential items in a calm, dignified space. Their warehouse is stocked with new and gently used clothing, shoes, accessories, beauty and skincare items, and other everyday essentials for individuals of all ages. • The Alta Heritage Foundation is a group of volunteer archeologists who help wildfire survivors recover the cremated remains of family members that were kept in now-destroyed homes. Request their services here.

• Pasadena ReStore’s Wildfire Relief Discount Program offers discounts for people with proof of residence in a fire-impacted zip code. The discount includes 3 purchases of donated items at 50% off, and 3 purchases of premium items at 25% off. Visit the store at 32 North Sierra Madre Boulevard to learn more.

• Fender is offering help to musicians who have lost instruments or gear in the wildfires. Apply here

• The LA County Department of Public Health posts recovery updates and guides to protect your health after the fires and through rebuilding. See here

• St. John’s Hospital in Santa Monica announced a new Disaster Relief Pulmonary Clinic to aid people experiencing respiratory symptoms such as coughing, wheezing, shortness of breath or chest tightness. • The City of Pasadena & Eaton Health Village are providing free medical and mental health care every Monday and Wednesday from 11 AM – 3 PM at the Pasadena Seventh-Day Adventist Center (1280 E Washington Blvd). Services include medical consultations, medical refills, mental health services and case management, vision care, and dental care. Questions? Call 855-665-4621, press 3.

• The Disability Community Resource Center’s Durable Medical Equipment Wildfire Recovery Grant helps replace essential medical devices lost in the Palisades and Eaton Fires, including mobility aids (wheelchairs, walkers, etc.), respiratory support equipment, medical monitoring devices, and daily living aids (hospital beds, etc). For eligibility and to apply, call (310) 390-3611.

• The CA Foundation for Independent Living Centers offers supportive services to disabled and electricity-dependent people after disasters. Learn more and apply here

• Teladoc Health is offering free, 24/7 virtual medical care by calling 855-225-5032. Services include treatment for conditions like respiratory infections, allergies, sinus problems, or prescription medication refills. Learn more

• The Department of Public Health is offering free blood lead testing for those concerned about exposure to lead from the recent wildfires. Learn more

• Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health (LACDMH) staff are available to provide in-person mental health services (including counseling, medication assistance, crisis stabilization, and linkage) from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday to Friday, at Altadena Community Center at 730 E. Altadena Drive, Altadena, CA 91001.

• Dena Heals offers a range of services including healing circles, group sessions and more. Learn more

• The Music Health Alliance’s Industry Mental Health Fund supports the outpatient mental health needs of music professionals and their immediate family members who have been personally impacted by the LA Wildfires. Qualified applicants can receive up to $2,000 for mental health needs. Apply here

• AlterCareLine provides no-cost, compassionate behavioral health and crisis support services to individuals across California, including natural disaster-specific mental health support. Learn more

• YMCA social workers are available to help children and families impacted by the fires. Sign up

• Musicians can receive mental health support and grants from the Music Industry Mental Health Fund. Learn more

• FEMA Public Assistance helps nonprofits, including houses of worship, impacted by the wildfires cover the costs for emergency protective measures, debris removal, and repairing or replacing damaged facilities. The deadline was March 9th, however, Cal OES has indicated that they will review and consider late requests. Learn more

• DoorDash & Hello Alice have created a Fund to provide grants and resources to businesses affected by natural disasters or major infrastructure failures. Apply for their Fall round of grants by January 5th at 3pm PST. Apply here

• Team Friday supports impacted small businesses with cash based mutual aid to help cover the cost of deductibles for insurance claims. Apply here

• The Wish Local Empowerment Program is offering 4,000 grants to Black-owned small businesses ranging from $500-$2,000. Must have a brick and mortar location, 20 or fewer employees, and earn under $1 million in revenue. Apply here

• The LA Regional Small Business Legal Aid Program provides free legal education and direct representation to qualified small businesses. Learn more

• Business to Business Space Share connects businesses displaced by the fires to donated, temporary space generously provided by other organizations throughout LA County. Access the portal here.

• Jewish Free Loan offers zero-interest, zero-fee loans to small businesses and nonprofits. Learn more

• Small businesses and nonprofits that have suffered substantial economic injury may be eligible for a Small Business Administration Economic Injury Disaster Loan. The deadline passed on October 15, 2025, but applications are still being accepted here.
