Wildfire Emergency Resources

• In-Person Disaster Recovery Centers are open to the public Monday – Saturday from 9 AM to 7 PM. The centers are a centralized space for residents who have been impacted by the fires to obtain county, state and federal services. To see a partial list of agencies at the centers, click here.

      – Altadena Location: 540 West Woodbury Rd, Altadena, CA 91001

      – The Pasadena City College location closed on January 31st

• The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) is accepting applications for financial assistance from impacted Los Angeles County residents. The deadline has been extended to March 31st, apply here or by calling 1-800-621-FEMA (3362)

• The U.S. Small Business Administration offers low-interest loans, below market-rate, to rebuild homes and businesses and replace personal items. During the first year, no interest accrues and no payments are required. Call 800-659-2955 or apply online before the newly extended deadline on March 31st here.

• LA County residents displaced by home destruction/damage, or who experienced a death in the family, are eligible for a Household Relief Grant of up to $18,000. Apply online by March 12th or by calling 888-788-0335.

• The CA Dept. of Social Services offers grants of up to $10,000 to supplement FEMA awards as well as direct case management to disaster survivors. Learn more

• The U.S. Army Corp of Engineers will remove debris from your property for free. Complete this form by March 31st to sign up, or call the County’s Public Works Hotline at 844-347-3332 for more information.

• Request property tax relief from the LA County Assessor by calling (213) 974-8658 or by submitting this online form.

• If you lost your job or can’t work because of a disaster, you may qualify for CA Disaster Unemployment Assistance. Apply here before March 31st and learn more by reading this fact sheet.

• Better Angels’ rapid-response Emergency Assistance Fund provides financial support to low-income families that have been impacted by the fires. Apply here

• CA has secured commitments from 400+ financial institutions that have committed to provide mortgage relief to those affected by the fires, beyond the U.S. HUD mortgage foreclosure moratorium in place through July 7th. Learn more

      – CalHFA has also approved a $100M+ program to grant mortgage relief for people impacted by the fires. Applications are not open yet, but you can learn more here.

• Owners of mobile/manufactured homes can receive assistance from CA Dept. of Housing & Community Development. Learn more

• Hotels offering discounted rates: Read here, here, and here for hotels in Anaheim.

      – FYI: It is against the law for hotels to increase rates due to increased demand from fire evacuations.

• Wildfire victims now qualify for LA Metro’s Low Income Fare is Easy (LIFE) program, which offers 90 days of unlimited free rides, followed by 20 free rides per month. The program works across all Metro services, as well as municipal services like Pasadena Transit and the Santa Monica Big Blue Bus. Learn more and sign up here.

• Pacific Coast Highway Entry Passes are now available for Palisades/Malibu Residents of Burn Areas & Essential Businesses. Pick one up at the Westside Disaster Recovery Center, Santa Monica College, or Malibu City Hall. Learn more /span>

• St. John’s Hospital in Santa Monica announced a new Disaster Relief Pulmonary Clinic to aid people experiencing respiratory symptoms such as coughing, wheezing, shortness of breath or chest tightness. • The City of Pasadena & Eaton Health Village are providing free medical and mental health care every Monday and Wednesday from 11 AM – 3 PM at the Pasadena Seventh-Day Adventist Center. • Teladoc Health is offering free, 24/7 virtual medical care by calling 855-225-5032. Services include treatment for conditions like respiratory infections, allergies, sinus problems, or prescription medication refills. Learn more

• The LA Region Worker Relief Fund provides cash assistance grants of $2,000 to people who lost income due to the windstorm and wildfires. Apply by March 12th. Apply here

• Entertainment Industry workers can receive financial assistance from the Entertainment Community Fund, the Motion Picture & Television Fund, and the Will Rogers Pioneers Assistance Fund.

• AID FOR ARTISTS is an initiative giving grants of up to $20,000 to professional artists impacted by the fires. Learn more and apply here.

• The Alta Heritage Foundation is a group of volunteer archeologists who help wildfire survivors recover the cremated remains of family members that were kept in now-destroyed homes. Request their services here.

• Avocado Green Mattresses is offering discounted/donated mattresses and bedding to those impacted by the wildfires. View here

• The LA Region Small Business Relief Fund provides cash assistance grants for small businesses and nonprofits impacted by the windstorm and wildfires. Organizations with revenue of up to $6 million and less than 100 employees can receive grants of up to $25,000 depending on disaster impact. Apply by March 12th. Apply here.

• The LA Regional Small Business Legal Aid Program provides free legal education and direct representation to qualified small businesses. Learn more
