Storyline Online®, the SAG-AFTRA Foundation’s two-time Emmy®-nominated children’s literacy program, is excited to unveil its latest read-aloud video featuring the talented and versatile actress, Alison Brie. Best known for her standout roles in Apples Never Fall, GLOW and Community, Brie brings her charm and energy to the magical story The Magician’s Hat, written by Malcolm Mitchell, illustrated by Joanne Lew-Vriethoff, and published by Scholastic, Inc. This enchanting tale of discovery and imagination is brought to life through Brie’s dazzling storytelling, inspiring young audiences to explore the wonders of books and reading.

The Magician’s Hat follows a group of children at a library magic show where a magician reveals the true magic of books—the ability to transform dreams into reality. As the magician pulls objects from his hat, he explains how reading can open doors to new possibilities for each of them. Brie’s narration captures the excitement and wonder of the children as they discover how books can inspire their imaginations, build confidence, and help them achieve their dreams.

“I’m honored to be part of the SAG-AFTRA Foundation’s Storyline Online,” said Alison Brie. “Bringing this magical story to life was such a joy, and I hope The Magician’s Hat sparks the imaginations of young readers, inspiring them to explore the magic of books and pursue their dreams.”

Courtney B. Vance, SAG-AFTRA Foundation President and Chairman of the Board, expressed his gratitude for the latest Storyline Online addition: “We are thankful to Alison Brie for her wonderful reading of The Magician’s Hat. Her warm and delightful storytelling captures the essence of this tale, encouraging children to dream big and explore the world of books. At the SAG-AFTRA Foundation, we believe that stories are gateways to imagination, and we are proud to continue empowering children and families with this free literacy program.”
