Legendary actress and three-time Academy Award winner Meryl Streep has won the 2024 Children’s & Family Emmy® for her outstanding storytelling of The Three Questions on Storyline Online®, earning the program its first-ever Emmy® Award. This prestigious honor recognizes Streep’s unparalleled storytelling and highlights Storyline Online’s enduring mission to inspire a love of reading in children worldwide.

Storyline Online®, the SAG-AFTRA Foundation’s Emmy®-winning children’s literacy program, features celebrated actors reading beloved books to engage young audiences and support literacy development. With over 900 million views globally, Storyline Online® is a trusted educational resource used by teachers, parents, and caregivers to encourage reading and learning.

The Three Questions, written and illustrated by Jon J Muth, and published by Scholastic Inc., tells the story of a young boy named Nikolai who embarks on a journey to discover the answers to three profound questions about kindness, purpose, and the right way to live. Guided by his animal friends and a wise old turtle, Nikolai learns valuable life lessons about compassion, mindfulness, and the importance of being present for others. Streep’s masterful narration and nuanced voicing of each character bring warmth and depth to the story, making her Emmy Award-winning performance a powerful and immersive experience for children and adults alike.

Courtney B. Vance, Chairman of the SAG-AFTRA Foundation, expressed his gratitude, saying, “Meryl Streep’s extraordinary talent and dedication to literacy have helped Storyline Online reach even greater heights. This historic Emmy win is a testament to the power of storytelling, and the impact of the Foundation’s mission to advance children’s literacy and inspire young minds through reading books aloud.”
