In-Person Labs in LA and NY Opening Soon!

Our Voiceover Labs in Los Angeles and New York will open soon to provide in-person sessions to SAG-AFTRA members. We will also continue to offer Virtual Booth Sessions and classes to all SAG-AFTRA members nationwide.

How to Access the Voiceover Labs and Programming

To use our Voiceover Labs and access our Voiceover programming, you must first create a Voiceover profile. Once you have created a profile, you must attend one of our monthly Voiceover Program Orientations. After attending the Orientation, you will be able to sign-up for programming and reserve booth sessions virtually and in-person at our Labs in Los Angeles and New York

All members using our in-person facilities must be COVID-19 vaccinated and boosted and must bring a copy of their vaccination record to enter. Masks are required when inside our facilities, unless you are instructed to remove your mask by a member of staff.

Los Angeles, New York and Virtual

Our state-of-the-art labs in Los Angeles and New York offer members the opportunity to practice copy, try out spots for demo reads and record auditions. Our main booths provide an audio engineer/booth director, while our solo booths are available for members to self-record.

Our Virtual Booth Sessions allow members to work with an audio engineer to record auditions, practice voicing copy, and receive direction remotely.

If you have created a profile and completed an orientation, you can book a booth session in-person in Los Angeles and New York, or virtually.

Due to significant demand, we have a strict Frequency Restriction, Cancellation and No-show Policy. All of our policies are designed to ensure that as many performers can participate in our classes as possible.

Voiceover Labs Programming

We offer hundreds of hours of specialized programming every year in every facet of voiceover work, allowing beginners to gain a grounding in the field, and experienced practitioners to hone their craft and stay up-to-date on the latest trends and technologies.

Our expert guest instructors offer workshops, classes and discussion panels on the business, the craft and the evolving technical aspects of becoming a successful voiceover artist.

Our in-house staff of seasoned voiceover experts host multiple regular virtual workout groups and meet-ups designed to help members explore their craft, get feedback on their work, expand their business and technical know-how, and connect and network with other voiceover artists in the Foundation community.

Due to significant demand, we have a strict Cancellation and No-show Policy. All of our policies are designed to ensure that as many performers can participate in our classes as possible.

Our Voiceover Labs and Programs are free for SAG-AFTRA members and made possible through gifts, grants and sponsorships. The Foundation never draws on SAG-AFTRA dues or initiation fees.

The DLF Voiceover Lab is named in memory of legendary voice actor Don LaFontaine and cultivates a thriving community of voice actors who embody his generous spirit of mentorship and giving back. The SAG-AFTRA Foundation’s Don LaFontaine Voiceover Lab is a fitting tribute to this legendary artist and man that many of today’s top voiceover actors considered both their mentor and friend.
