Our Program Policies
The SAG-AFTRA Foundation is committed to providing high-quality educational programs that prepare performers for the realities of today’s entertainment industry through practical learning, meaningful connections, and trusted support. Whether attending a conversation, class, workshop, masterclass, screening, lab, or networking event, members have the opportunity to learn directly from respected industry professionals and fellow performers in a welcoming and professional environment.

These guidelines are designed to promote fairness, accessibility, and a safe learning environment while helping us deliver the highest quality experience for all who participate.

• Emotional support, comfort, therapy, or companion animals that have not been individually trained to perform a specific task related to a disability are not considered service animals and are not permitted in Foundation facilities unless otherwise required by law.
Handler Responsibilities
The service animal’s handler is responsible for ensuring that the animal:
• Remains under the handler’s control at all times through a leash, harness, or tether unless these devices interfere with the animal’s work or the handler’s disability requires otherwise.
• Is housebroken.
• Does not disrupt Foundation programs, services, or events.
• Does not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of others.
• The Foundation is not responsible for the care, supervision, feeding, or relief of service animals.
Removal of a Service Animal
A service animal may be asked to leave the premises if:
• It is out of control, and the handler does not take effective action to regain control.
• It is not housebroken.
• It poses a direct threat to the health or safety of others that cannot be eliminated through reasonable measures.
If a service animal is removed, the Foundation will, where feasible, offer the individual the opportunity to participate in its programs or services without the animal.
