Actress and supermodel Kaia Gerber, star of the upcoming Apple TV+ comedy series Palm Royale, brought her unmatched pep and poise to the SAG-AFTRA Foundation’s free children’s literacy program Storyline Online®. She reads The Three Little Pigs and the Somewhat Bad Wolf written and illustrated by Mark Teague, and published by Scholastic.

Over the past few years, Gerber has earned prestigious accolades like ‘Model of the Year,’ and has captivated the big screen in films like Babylon and Bottoms. And now, along with starring in the highly anticipated Apple TV+ show debuting later this month, Gerber is also sharing one of her favorite pastimes – reading. The actress is usually seen with a book in hand — only this time she’ll be taking Mark Teague’s story off the shelves to share its message with young readers worldwide.

The Three Little Pigs and the Somewhat Bad Wolf is a fresh twist on a beloved tale. The three pigs spend their money on different things: potato chips, sody-pop, and building supplies. It comes as no surprise that a wolf is able to blow down the first two pigs’ houses. But when the wolf can’t blow down the third pig’s brick house, everyone comes together and the fun begins.

Mark Teague is an award-winning author and illustrator, and his characters are vibrant and captivating like this month’s reader Kaia Gerber. SAG-AFTRA Foundation’s President Courtney B. Vance is delighted to add The Three Little Pigs and the Somewhat Bad Wolf to the Storyline Online library and cannot wait to share Gerber’s read-aloud with millions of children worldwide.

“Kaia Garber delivers a knockout performance with a book that matches her infectious enthusiasm and wit. Children and teachers alike will be laughing along as Kaia brings the humor throughout Mark Teague’s zany and entertaining story to life. Kaia’s star is on the rise, so it is a joy to watch her shine in what is sure to be a standout story for our children’s literacy program and global audience,” said Vance.

As with all Storyline Online videos, The Three Little Pigs and the Somewhat Bad Wolf comes with a free activity guide aligned with Common Core Standards that strengthens verbal, written and comprehension skills. Aimed at 1st – 3rd grade students, these activities encourage children to engage in critical thinking activities and explore the themes of this book including courage, curiosity, friendship and trust.

Kaia Gerber joins the beloved cast of Storyline Online readers including Angela Bassett, Kristen Bell, Connie Britton, Keith Carradine, Terry Crews, Viola Davis, Rosario Dawson, Cynthia Erivo, Sutton Foster, Jennifer Garner, Allison Janney, Melanie Lynskey, John Lithgow, Simu Liu, Rami Malek, Seth Meyers, Bob Odenkirk, Holly Robinson Peete, Chris Pine, Sheryl Lee Ralph, Kyra Sedgwick, Justin Theroux, Oprah Winfrey, Michelle Yeoh, and dozens more who have volunteered their time and talent to promote literacy and inspire a love of reading in hundreds of millions of children worldwide.
