JoBeth Williams elected President of Screen Actors Guild Foundation

The Foundation is pleased to announce JoBeth Williams as its newly-elected President!

While JoBeth may be best known for her starring roles in Poltergeist (1 & 2), The Big Chill, Stir Crazy and Kramer vs. Kramer, she has been Emmy-nominated three times (for Baby M, Adam and Frasier) and has had the lead in two series, The Client and Payne. This past season saw her in a recurring role on HBO’s acclaimed Dexter.

Ms. Williams’ theatre credits include Last Dance, Moonchildren, A Couple of White Chicks, The Vagina Monologues and regional stage productions such as the Old Globe’s Anthony and Cleopatra, Threepenny Opera, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof and Uncle Vanya. Most recently, JoBeth appeared in Jan Anderson’s The Quality of Life at the Geffen Playhouse.

Accomplished on both sides of the camera, JoBeth directed Showtime’s Frankie and Hazel as well as the short film On Hope, which received two Golden Globe nominations and one Academy Award nomination.

A graduate of Brown University, JoBeth is married to director John Pasquin.
